Research and Product Development

One of the primary functions of MRA Laboratories is to provide research and development services in all aspects of electronic ceramic materials - from compositions to conductive metal inks to dual dielectric devices. Our scientists and engineers have broad experience and have made significant contributions in these areas. We continue to support R&D programs in many aspects of dielectric ceramics and proprietary wet film coating technology. The unique combination of expertise and state-of-the-art pilot production facilities makes MRA ideally suited for taking a project from the concept to the prototype to manufacturing.

Whether you are a user or a producer of electronic ceramic devices, the MRA team will provide in-depth evaluations and practical solutions to your problems. In particular, our research and development team can:

  • Develop and prepare custom ceramic dielectric formulations optimized for your applications and processes to ensure highest quality of your product.
  • Recommend and/or provide new and improved formulations and processes.
  • Develop and supply customized electrode inks.
  • Troubleshoot product or process related problems.
  • Develop and manufacture prototype multilayer actuators.
  • Evaluate your product - whether it is a raw material or a finished capacitor or sensor
  • Perform failure analysis and recommend corrective action.
  • Recommend testing and screening criteria using HALT, a highly accelerated life test developed at MRA. HALT provides valuable information regarding reliability and life expectancy of a particular group of capacitors.
  • Deposit customized thin films and evaluate metal and dielectric thin films.
